Mia in the Community
BLAZERFEST at Ridge View High
Had a blast at BLAZERFEST with my Ridge View family! Big shout out to Principal Mack-Foxworth, RV's PTSO, SIC and our entire Blazer community! Loved seeing some of our Rice Creek Elementary students like Tavarus, who came to the State House with Ms. Cote's class! Horizon Band...you're awesome!
Agape Worship Center's Community Event
Attended Agape Worship Center's Community event, and it was absolutely amazing! They had fun, food & entertainment for the entire community! Health screenings, food & drinks, massages, give-aways and more! They also gave hundreds of boxes of food to folks in the community who need a helping hand.
The last hour was a "gospelfest" in the sanctuary, and we had CHURCH! One of my favorite gospel songs goes, "When Jesus is in the building..." Well, He was definitely there as local gospel artists like Spring Valley High School's and Brookland NE's Joi Roberson sang so beautifully. Then, Kevin Thompson's mega-talented group, Rebirth, kept us on our feet as they "raised the roof" with their amazing voices.
Enjoyed spending the afternoon with you, Agape! Bishop & Mrs. Collins...I thank God for you guys! For those of you who missed it, enjoy these pics!

Mia Introduces Justin Bethel in the SC House
I had an opportunity to introduce and congratulate Justin Bethel today in the SC House. Justin is a 2008 graduate of Blythewood High School who graduated from Presbyterian College in 2012 and is now playing in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. He also played in the 2014 Pro Bowl! Justin is very actively engaged in our community and gives back in a multitude of ways. We're really proud of him and all of his accomplishments.
